Wessex Cardiology Trainees

New Trainee Representative!

 Hi All,

I would like to welcome Mo Kira as a new Trainee representative for Wessex!

He did fantastically in the elections earlier in the academic year and now that Lizzy is settled into her role (and doing fab), Mo will be joining her as a BJCA Wessex Deanery representative.

It has been a great pleasure being your trainee representative but it is now time for me to step down and transition Mo into his new role!

As always, Lizzy and Mo will be happy to help with any queries and questions and will make sure your voice as trainees are heard.

Thank you all for your support during my time as a training representative!

BW,

Kri

TOE Simulator Training at BCS

 Hi All,

The British Cardiovascular Society Annual Conference Simulator Training Area gives trainees a unique opportunity to have a 1 hour session where 1-2 trainees get dedicated simulator-based, hands-on training with an expert in that procedure.

Dr Jamal Khan,  Lead for TOE Simulator Training, has recruited some excellent TOE consultant trainers from around the UK to deliver the sessions on the Heartworks Simulator (same simulator as used in the BSE TOE Practical Assessment). These sessions are running from Monday morning through to Wednesday lunchtime (total of 14x 1-hour TOE simulator sessions).

There are a few places left if any of you are interested. This is great for anyone keen on learning TOE or anyone wishing to gaining an insight into TOE, practical experience in how to perform a TOE or familiarity with TOE views. There are a range of pathologies as well as a normal case for you to try. The trainers will start at the very basics and work up, hence all levels of experience are welcome (even if you've never held a TOE probe before).

If interested, please visit the registration link here to book a slot.
