Wessex Cardiology Trainees

BHVS Aortic stenosis hybrid meeting

 Dear All,

The British Heart Valve Society (BHVS) are holding a hybrid meeting – “Aortic Stenosis” – to be held in central London on Friday April 22nd 2022. There will also be the option to watch online if you don’t want to travel to London. We have a mix of interventional and imaging cardiologists and cardiac surgeons as well as heart valve disease specialists to discuss many of the challenges we face in clinical practice, including MDT case discussions about challenging cases we come across in our daily work.

The venue is Holiday Inn – High St Kensington and the cost is only £20 for BHVS members and £30 for non-members!

Furthermore, if you attend in person, you will receive a free copy of the BHVS patient book on heart valve disease, which has proved very popular and useful in heart valve clinics. You can find out more about the book here: https://www.bhvs.org.uk/book/

This meeting is organised to mark the 20th anniversary of the first-in-man TAVI procedure done in April 2002. This was performed by Professor Alain Cribier and we are thrilled to confirm that he will travel to London to deliver the keynote lecture at the meeting! We also have a brilliant line up of speakers, including:

  • Professor Rebecca Hahn (New York, USA)
  • Dr Jeffrey Popma (Boston, USA)
  • Professor Marc Dweck (Edinburgh)
  • Professor Bernard Prendergast (London)
  • Dr Clare Appleby (Liverpool)
  • Miss Karen Booth (Newcastle)
  • Dr Brian Campbell (London)
  • Dr Madalina Garbi (Cambridge)
  • Dr Chris Malkin (Leeds)

The programme and registration details are attached – you can register here:https://www.bhvs.org.uk/event/bhvs-aortic-stenosis-study-day-22nd-april-2022/
