See the below from the RCP regarding the Turner-Warwick lectures.

Well worth submitting an abstract for.

Your trainees could win this year ... but they can't miss the deadline!

Dear Dr Carroll,

The Turner-Warwick lecturer scheme provides a sense of pride, builds confidence and gives encouragement to trainees across the UK. The scheme underlines the value trainees bring to healthcare, and also fosters skills like public speaking and how to package information for diverse medical audiences.

Help your trainee colleagues stand out among their peers and build important skills by encouraging them to enter an abstract in the 2021 Turner-Warwick lecturer scheme. Most trainees apply to the Turner-Warwick lecturer scheme because a consultant they know recommended it to them. The deadline for trainees to submit an abstract is: 6 June.

Winning trainees will be able to reach beyond their specialty and present their lecture to a wide range of specialists and future collaborators.

They will receive feedback on their work and presentation, including insight on how to improve going forward. They're also presented with a plaque from the RCP president, an invitation to the Harveian Oration, and will feature in our annual Turner-Warwick yearbook.

So if you work with a trainee, please pass this message on to them. Trainee physicians at IMT, CMT, MTI, ACCS-AM or ST3–7 level (or equivalent) are invited to apply.
