 Dear all,

The BJCA/Medtronic are re-running their very popular 4 part device programming course in early 2021 Feb/March.

It covers the basics of device programming and implantation to more complex ICD troubleshooting/management.

This is an excellent course and strongly recommended for junior (ST3-ST5) trainees.

See the flyer here, the Eventbrite registration link is included in the document.

COVID rotas

 Dear all,

As a second wave looms over us, Trusts will likely start implementing COVID rotas if they have not already done so.

It had been less than ideal for training in the first wave and as such, it would be worth keeping a close tab on how it is affecting trainees across the region.

I would appreciate it if you could email me at krithika.loganath@gmail.com if and when a COVID rota is implemented in your Trust and what this entails for your clinical commitments.

Of course, if you have any concerns as well, please feel free to email about them and I will see what we can do to help.

Thanks!

DUAL/SINGLE ACCREDITATION- REMINDER

 Dear All,

Just a friendly reminder. If you have not already done so, please email the deanery to express your preference for single/ dual accreditation ASAP as we have been advised by the BJCA that the window is fast closing.

Email medicine.wx@hee.nhs.uk to inform them of your preference.

Just a recap: the guidance is below

2020 intake (i.e. this years ST3s) - Compulsory dual accreditation with GIM, no exceptions.

2019 intake (current ST4s) - Highly likely to need to dual accredit with GIM.

2018 intake or prior (Current ST5+) - Dual accreditation with GIM if trainee wishes. See below for the next steps.
