Wessex Cardiology Trainees

Friday Morning Update!

This is a long post...  But full of important information!

1.  Wessex Cardiology Cases Evening Tuesday 27th November 1830 Ghandi, Winchester

We have a few remaining spaces (6 to be exact) for this exciting new 'cases' evening event.  The idea is that we can all learn from each other by sharing interesting cases, or cases where we would do something different next time...  We probably have time for 1-2 more cases so (like any good conference!) we are extending the deadline for case submission until Sunday 11th Nov midnight.  If you have a case or you want to attend please email Simon Claridge:  simon.claridge@rbch.nhs.uk

We have a great panel of consultants including Kristel Longman, Rob Bowers, John Rawlins and Tom Jackson who will 'judge' the presentations and provide some good discussion around the cases.  Certificates and prizes will be provided for anyone presenting a case.

2.  Cardiac CT Training Day

CT level 1 style course Friday 15th February (this was changed from an original date of the 18th due to faculty availability) at Southampton University Hospital.  This training day will include teaching from world experts in Cardiac CT and will address e-portfolio learning objectives in Cardiac CT.  It is just after change over so make sure your new hospital has your study leave request.

3.  Wessex Cardiology Twitter page - You may have already noticed the new Wessex Cardiology Twitter page.  Many thanks to Tom Gilpin who is currently managing this.  If anyone else would like to get involved with Wessex Cardiology Social Media please get in touch (hannah.sinclair1@nhs.net).

4.  The SCCT Winter meeting in Dublin has a level 2 cardiac CT course from Sun 20th Jan - Wednesday 23rd Jan.  This is the best value level 2 cardiac CT course I have seen around and I think there are still spaces.

5.  Any budding interventional trainees please check out:  The EAPCI are offering education  and training grants of €25,000 to provide an opportunity for specialised research and clinical training.
