Adult Congenital Heart Disease and Heart Disease in Pregnancy Meeting
Sam Fitzsimmons, our STC trainee rep and ACHD trainee, has passed on details regarding two adult congenital and heart disease in pregnancy training days.
The ACHD day might be of interest to those wishing to sub-specialise, or those seeking more confidence in managing such conditions, but the pregnancy day is more general training.
Both sessions take place at the RSM in London in February with a cost to trainees of £65.

Reminder - Isle of Wight Training Day - 26th January 2012
The first official training day of the year takes place next Thursday. Clinical commitments should already have been cancelled by your previous post holder.
Registration is from 9.30 in the Postgraduate Medical Centre at St. Mary's, Newport. A lunch is provided with refreshments throughout the day.
The programme is subject to final changes but is a good mix of core syllabus topics for the KBA, as well as practical problem solving.
Don't forget to plan your journey to the Island - my favourite is the hovercraft but there are car and passenger options from both Portsmouth and Southampton.

Reminder - 4th British Society for Heart Failure Medical Training Meeting - Thursday 9 February 2012
Paul Kalra has asked me to remind you all of the BSH Medical meeting that takes place next month.
There is a great programme and attendance is a must if you wish to subspecialise in heart failure.
He tells me the travel grant of up to £100 is still available, although I notice that the official flyer and application form states the deadline was extended until the 13th January. It must still be worth a try.
